CLARK TOWNSHIP BROWN COUNTY OHIO

Including the village of Hamersville

Clark Township was originally a township in Clermont County before the organization of Brown County in 1818.

The township was reduced in size three times The first was 12-02-1822 by the formation of Washington  and Franklin Townships. The second on 03-23-1823 by the formation of Pike Township.And on 12-01-1828 by the formation of Scott Township.


Hamersville

In 1838 the village of Good Samartian was laid out by George Flick and Nathaniel Moore. The name of the village was soon changed to Moores Crossing and eventually  was renamed Hamersville in honor of Thomas L Hamer a member of Congress fron the district.
